What is required to receive products from customs?
In response to the question of what is required to receive products from customs, products that are stuck in customs, cannot pass through customs because their procedures cannot be completed, or products with missing invoices are put up for sale at a more affordable price than the market. Although these products are popularly known as “customs goods“, they are actually called “liquidation“.
Since customs administrations do not aim to make a profit in the liquidation process carried out to empty the warehouses, prices are kept affordable. Among the liquidated goods, you can also find many original and working technological devices. By selling original customs goods such as luxury perfumes and brand shoes, wireless headphones at very affordable prices, both the warehouses of the customs administrations are emptied and the products are brought to the economy and benefit people. These applications become an advantage for many people when it becomes difficult to make quality and economical shopping.
Customs Products Point of Sale
In order to pass products through customs, a number of procedures are carried out in accordance with the legislation. However, from time to time, the procedures of the products cannot be completed. When the transactions cannot be completed, these goods and the Anti-Smuggling Law are collected as detained goods.
After this process, which is carried out in order to empty the warehouses and bonded warehouses of the customs administrations and to make room for new products, the usable goods are given to foundations and associations to be used for the benefit of society or are brought into the economy. Products reserved for sale are offered for sale by tender or retail. At this point, customs administrations decide on the way of sale.
For these products, which are sold at very reasonable prices compared to their normal prices, a sales list is first created and this list is announced both normally and electronically. It is possible to find all these products, which are brought from abroad but which people do not take from customs or which are caught in customs because they are prohibited, in retail stores. These stores are under the Regional Directorates of the Ministry of Trade. You can visit these stores in Erenköy and Sirkeci in Istanbul, Ankara, Kocaeli and Edirne and buy the product you want with cash or card.
What to do to pass a product through customs
Many people also shop abroad via the internet. However, the product you buy may get stuck in customs and may not reach you. In such cases, the product may be returned or liquidated later.
If the product has not been delivered to you for a long time, there is a very high probability that it has been caught in customs. If the product has been cleared by customs, you will be notified by the International Cargo Transmission Center. In this case, there are some ways you need to follow to get your product through customs.
UKIM will ask you for the invoice of the product, a document showing the payment and your ID. In addition, you will also need to share your contact information and cargo tracking number. After doing these, you can wait for the product you have purchased to be taxed and sent to you.
However, only the person on whose behalf the seller sent the cargo can receive the product. If products coming from abroad are stuck in customs, they are kept here for at least 10 and at most 20 days. Therefore, if you do not apply for your product, it will be sent back to the seller.
